The Graduation

I'm finally finished.
Done.
Completed.
Ended.
Finale.
Fulfilled.
Concluded.
Accomplished.

I graduated from Belmont University on May 17, 09 with a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) aka a Music Business Degree. There were over 600 graduates and they were read name by name by name by name......
When I walked out into the auditorium I was overcome with emotion and flashbacks of my past four years. I was realizing what an accomplishment this really was.
Here's a photo of me walking across the stage to get my diploma. I was so nervous taking light footsteps as not to trip.

I started this degree in the fall of 04 and never imagined it would take me this long to finish. When I was offered a job one year into my schooling, I jumped at the chance knowing how far and few in between the music business gigs were. Taking the job moved all my classes into the evening after work. There were a lot of very long nights but I can now say I am glad I stuck with it and followed through. It has given me a great sense of accomplishment and I am proud of myself. Now I can take a deep breath and rest a bit.

I learned a lot about myself and life through the process....

I have so much more drive than I thought I did.

Just because a teacher has a degree or several, doesn't mean they know shit.

When someone tells me that I can't do something, it just gives me more reason TO DO IT!

Paying for my own education has taught me to appreciate and value it so much more.

I hated algebra in high school and I still hate it.

College is over priced.

I met some great people along the way that will become life long friends.

Fast Food should not be included in any food group.

My Mother is a saint for letting me cry on her shoulder when I didn't think I could push myself another day and then encouraging me to push on.

The skinny long blonde haired girls in high school got the guys then and it appears they still do.

I can listen to a lecture, type an email, chew gum and text at the same time.

If I had to do it all again, I'd probably do it all again.

Country Roads

My co-workers often tell me that I'm crazy for driving almost an hour to work every day but I LOVE IT! The other night on my home I got off on the back roads (as I usually do), rolled my windows down, enjoyed the sunshine and stopped along the way to snap some photos. These scenic views are a huge reason why I bought where I did. Enjoy along with me...

the closer I got the further away they ran but overall they were friendly

I hadn't seen a sign like this since moving from WI
